100 Mile Reading: Shadow Crossing

shadow crossingShadow Crossing by Lea Harper

In this poetic anthology, local author Lea Harper examines how experience shapes us, and the past bears witness to the present. Whether it’s a life being overshadowed by the sudden appearance of a long lost parent, grappling with the identity struggles of being of mixed origins, or living in a country dealing with dual allegiances, the poems in Shadow Crossing reflect how our sense of self can be pulled by the ebb and flow of life’s events. Harper is a Juno nominee, and has performed all over Canada, the U.S., Jamaica, and South America. Shadow Crossing along with her previous collection All That Saves Us are available to reserve at the Haliburton County Public Library.
