Book Talks: The Memento by Christy Ann Conlin

the mementoThe Memento by Christy Ann Conlin

When twelfth born Fancy Mosher turns twelve, her mother believes that she has inherited the family memento. Something her grandfather before her had, and something her mother is desperate for her to have. But Fancy wants nothing to do with her late Grampie’s talents, which were thought by some to be an ability to see the dead. Rather Fancy is determined to put her family’s past behind her, and enjoy her last summer working at Petal’s End, a giant estate on the Bay of Fundy, while the Parkers – the wealthy owners – spend what may be their final summer there. But all is not well with the Parkers as family secrets that were thought buried with the past begin to emerge. Soon it becomes clear that there are enough ghosts haunting Petal’s End and it’s sprawling gardens that even if Fancy doesn’t want to see the dead, she may not have a choice.

The Memento by Christy Ann Conlin is available to reserve at the Haliburton County Public Library.
